Ingredients
3 tbsp butter
1 kg carrots
5 sprigs thyme
salt, to taste
0.25 cup maple syrup (alternative: honey)
1 cup chicken stock
Directions
- Add the butter to a large frypan on a medium heat.
- Once the butter has melted, add the carrots, thyme and salt.
- Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the maple syrup, followed by the chicken stock.
- Bring to a simmer.
- Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes.
- Remove the lid and continue to simmer until the chicken stock is reduced to a thick syrup.
